Overview
The construction of the Aswan High Dam in 1971, one of the largest in the world is at the origin of Lake Nasser, all the sites visited during the cruise were saved from the rising waters of the Nile thanks to a program of travel under the auspices of UNESCO .
At the crossroads of the old caravan route, Lower Nubia transports us to a world full of colors and perfumes from elsewhere. A trip on Lake Nasser to meet exceptional sites, less known than those of the Nile Valley, but just as bewitching!

On the Giza plateau, the flagship site of the Pharaonic civilization which contains the three famous pyramids "Cheops, Chephren and Mykerinos" as well as the Sphinx, in limestone, enigmatic and gigantic with a human head and a lion's body, raised as guardian of the necropolis. As well as the funerary temple of kings Chephren built entirely in granite.
At the Egyptian Museum in Cairo . The largest museum of Egyptology in the world which contains approximately 50,000 pieces covering all periods of ancient Egyptian history, including the treasures of the famous pharaoh Tutankhamun. With a walk in the medieval Islamic quarter and discover the souk of Khan El-Khallili . A labyrinth of small alleys bustling day and night that appeals to the senses with a mixture of images, sounds, scents and colors. Khan El-Khallili is the oldest bazaar in the world. It has been occupied by traders since the 14th century

At the beginning of the afternoon, departure for the visit of the site of Philae dedicated to the goddess Isis, mother of Horus and wife of Osiris. Threatened to be submerged during the construction of the high dam, this temple was moved block by block during the 1980s.
Walk in the famous souk of Aswan characterized by its African colors and smells.

After breakfast on board, departure by motor boat to the site of Kalabsha , located upstream of the high dam on the shores of Lake Nasser . It is a former religious center of the Blemmyes tribe, the Nubian god Mandoulis was worshiped there.
Just next to visit "Beit El-Wali" a rock-cut temple built during the reign of King Ramses 11.
Visit the Kiosk of Kertassi , a smaller version of Trajan's kiosk at Philae.
Lunch on board and start of navigation to Wadi El-Seboua.
Afternoon of relaxation on the upper deck of the boat around the swimming pool enjoying the navigation and the landscape of Lake Nasser.
At the end of the afternoon, tea service on the upper deck of the boat.

Breakfast on board and departure for the visit of the site of Wadi El-Seboua "the valley of the lions in French". This vast site made up of two temples and chapels takes its name from the alley of the "lion-headed" sphinxes which led to the entrance of the main temple of the site, built during the reign of Ramses 11.
Visit of the temple of Dakka, dedicated to the god Thoth.
Visit the temple of Maharaka , a small temple dating from Roman times and in which is the only known spiral staircase of all pharaonic architecture.

Landing and visit of the temple of Amada , built during the 18th dynasty by kings Thutmose 111, Amenophis 11 and Thutmose IV, with colorful and remarkably preserved reliefs.
Visit the temple of Derr, built by Ramses 11 in honor of the god Amon.
Visit the Tomb of Pennut , the burial place of the chief administrator of Nubia during the reign of Kings Ramses VI.

Breakfast on board. During the navigation you will see the site of Kasr-Ibrim from the upper deck of the boat. It is the only site not moved from Lake Nasser, there are still a lot of historical remains including those of an old fortress.
Lunch on board and continuation of navigation towards Abu Simbel.

Visit the splendid site of Abu Simbel which contains two temples, one is dedicated to Ramses 2 and the other to his wife Nefertiti.

Kom Ombo (about 45 km north of Aswan): The only temple in Egypt dedicated to two different deities, HORUS (the falcon) and SOBEK (the crocodile). It is renowned for its famous scenes such as that of the Pharaonic calendar and that of their surgical instruments.
The site of Edfu (about 75 km north of kom ombo): A site that dates back to Greek times. It is among the best preserved historical sites in Egypt because it remained buried for a long time under sand and dwellings. It was discovered in 1855 by the French archaeologist Auguste Mariette.
