Late in the morning, you will be picked up from your hotel in Luxor and transferred to Esna (approximately 50 km south of Luxor), the home port of your dahabeya.

Upon arrival, you will be welcomed by the crew and invited to discover your elegant sailing boat. Then the adventure begins as the dahabeya gently leaves the shore and sets sail on the timeless waters of the Nile.

Lunch will be served on board, followed by a peaceful afternoon of sailing at the rhythm of the wind, offering the perfect opportunity to relax and enjoy the beauty of the surrounding landscapes.

Your overnight stop will be at El-Hegz.

Edfu Temple

Breakfast on board, followed by a peaceful morning of sailing towards Edfu.

Lunch will be served on board before arriving at Edfu.

Upon arrival, take a traditional horse carriage to visit the magnificent Temple of Edfu, a true jewel of the Ptolemaic era. Dedicated to Horus, the celestial falcon god, this sanctuary dating from the 2nd century BC is one of the best-preserved monuments of Ancient Egypt. Its imposing architecture, faithful to the classical pharaonic style, reflects the grandeur and exceptional craftsmanship of the Ptolemaic period.

After the visit, return to your Dahabeya and continue sailing towards the island village of Bassaw.

Upon arrival, enjoy a leisurely walk around the charming island of Bassaw and discover its traditional Nubian village. This is a wonderful opportunity to meet the friendly local inhabitants and experience their warm hospitality.

Gebel El Silsila

After breakfast, a short sail will take you to Gebel El Silsila.

Upon arrival, disembark to explore the ancient sandstone quarries of Gebel El Silsila, which supplied the stone used to build many of the greatest monuments of Pharaonic Egypt. Nestled between dramatic cliffs along the Nile, this historic site offers a fascinating insight into the construction techniques of the ancient Egyptians.

Return to the dahabeya and continue sailing towards Kom Ombo.

Lunch will be served on board as you enjoy the tranquil scenery of the Nile, with its lush riverbanks, palm groves, and traditional villages creating a peaceful and unforgettable atmosphere.

Kom Ombo Temple

Upon arrival at Kom Ombo, take a short walk to visit the remarkable Temple of Kom Ombo.

This unique temple is dedicated to two deities: Sobek, the crocodile god associated with the Nile, fertility, and protection, and Haroeris (Horus the Elder), the falcon-headed sky god. The temple is famous for its rare medical reliefs depicting ancient surgical instruments and treatments, as well as evidence of the crocodile cult that flourished in the region.

Majestic and mysterious, Kom Ombo beautifully symbolizes the harmony between the celestial world and the life-giving forces of the Nile.

After the visit, return to the boat and continue sailing to Daraw.

Daraw Market

Breakfast on board, followed by a morning sail to Daraw.

Upon arrival, enjoy a stroll through the lively local market, a vibrant blend of colors, spices, and fragrances where African and Oriental influences come together to create a truly authentic atmosphere. This bustling market offers a fascinating glimpse into everyday life in Upper Egypt.

Depending on the day of your visit, you may also have the opportunity to explore the famous Camel Market (held on Saturdays and Sundays) or the Livestock Market (held on Tuesdays), both offering unique and memorable cultural experiences.

Herbiab Island

Return to the boat and continue sailing to Herbiab Island.

Take a leisurely walk through the island’s orchards filled with mango, orange, and lemon trees. Herbiab is also known for its beautiful sandy beach, where you may enjoy a refreshing swim in the sacred waters of the Nile.

Lunch will be served on board as the dahabeya continues its journey towards Aswan.

Relax and enjoy the final moments of navigation along the Nile before arriving in Aswan.
